Note that there are many things on which you can save money, but your kid’s bed shouldn’t be one of those things. Consider it an investment and don’t be afraid to spend a bit more than you initially planned.

When it comes to the design, pick something universal that’s easy to combine with other elements. In different stages of their life, kids like different things, so it’s important that crucial pieces, such as their bed, are versatile.
Friend Area
Sooner or later, your kid is going to start inviting friends over. Since it’s not actually convenient to have them in your living room where you’re watching your TV show, they will probably spend most of the time in your kid’s room.

Avoid Heavy Carpets and Curtains
As already stated, functionality is the number one thing you should keep in mind. Therefore, avoid placing heavy carpets and curtains in your kid’s room. Those might look fancy in your bedroom, but your kid doesn’t need them.
A hardwood floor that’s easy to clean and maintain, such as bamboo flooring, is everything your little one needs. This floor type is especially good for kids since it’s extremely hard-wearing.
Don’t Overdo It
You can easily get carried away in the process of designing your kid’s room, especially if you are into interior design. However, it’s important to know when to stop and focus on keeping things simple.
Let’s face it, your kid doesn’t care about fancy plants, glittery accessories, or extravagant lamps. For them, it’s all about functionality. So put your inner designer on hold and think about what your kid needs.
Once you’re done with all the essentials, you can consider adding a detail or two, but not more than that. A few frames could be a great idea, for example.
